A virtual trip back in time 50 years to experience the first five borough marathon race and the first time New York brought in world class runners including Americans Bill Rodgers and Frank Shorter
A great read, Len. It was interesting to see that the Jets were bad at the same time of the marathon and not much has changed. LOL. I also like the Marathon Man movie reference, which was on tv last week and I love that movie. I met Fred Lebow a few times when I was young and was running NYC Road Runner Club races and what he did with the NYC Marathon was amazing to see what it is today. There are so many cool stories from the 1st NYC Marathon.
Thanks Mark! I will have to watch the movie Marathon Man. I don't think I ever saw it. I remember when I was a kid when it came out being disappointed that it wasn't actually about a marathon race.
